Summary
The HR Manager, EU is responsible for leading and overseeing Human Resources activities across multiple regions, with a primary focus on Europe while contributing to global HR initiatives. This role provides strategic HR leadership, drives operational excellence across diverse teams - both on-site and remote - and ensures alignment with local employment regulations and global company policies. The HR Manager, EU will partner closely with business and HR leaders around the world to support organizational growth, employee engagement, and talent development. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and culturally agile leader with strong business acumen and a deep understanding of international HR practices across varied regulatory and cultural landscapes.
Responsibilities
More specifically, you will participate in the following:
- HR Budget and Resource Management: Manage regional HR budgets and resources to ensure effective and efficient HR service delivery.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, coach, and support the regional HR team across functions such as payroll, benefits, HR administration, onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and compliance, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
- Policy and Compliance Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies that align with company objectives and local employment legislation, ensuring legal compliance and operational consistency.
- HR Project Leadership: Plan and execute regional HR projects and initiatives that support business goals, including process improvements, system implementations, and change initiatives.
- Change and Organizational Management: Lead HR support for organizational changes such as restructurings, acquisitions, and site transitions, ensuring smooth execution and clear communication.
- Strategic HR Implementation: Localize and execute global HR strategies and programs, tailoring them to meet the needs of business units across the region (e.g., HCGC, CellCarta Logistics, ICPC).
- Leadership Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to regional leaders, guiding them through HR strategy execution, workforce planning, and employee relations.
- Employee and Labor Relations: Proactively manage social dialogue with works councils and employee representatives, fostering constructive and transparent relationships.
- Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the design, delivery, and benchmarking of compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with business objectives.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Support the talent acquisition team in regional recruitment efforts and onboarding processes to attract, integrate, and retain high-quality talent.
- Learning and Development: In partnership with our central HR team, design and implement development programs to enhance employee capabilities and meet local/regulatory training requirements (e.g., minimum 5 training days per employee annually).
- Performance and Talent Management: Lead performance management processes that support goal achievement and employee growth; support succession planning to ensure leadership continuity.
- Employee Engagement and Retention: Foster an inclusive and engaging workplace culture that supports employee satisfaction, development, and retention.
- Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex employee relations matters, providing guidance on performance issues, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution to ensure fair and consistent outcomes aligned with company values and legal requirements.
- HR Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze key HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Internal Communication: Ensure consistent, clear, and timely communication across the region to support alignment and engagement.
- HR Quality and Operational Excellence: Maintain high standards of HR service quality, compliance, and process integrity.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the HR department and overall organizational goals.
Education
- Degree in Human Resources or a related field.

- Proven experience in an HR management role, preferably in a multinational organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience engaging in social dialogue, including collaboration with work councils.
- Strong knowledge of European labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Fluency in English, Dutch, & French.
Working Conditions
- This position will be primarily based in Antwerp, with regular travel expected to our Gosselies site to support cross-location collaboration and operational needs.
- Expected travel of up to 25%.
