Context
Are you passionate about employment law and eager to make a real impact in a dynamic, people-focused environment? Our Human Resources department is looking for an experienced Legal Advisor to support the organization with expert guidance on social and labor law matters, in which you’ll collaborate with HR colleagues, managers and social partners.
Your position
As a Legal Advisor in HR, you will:
- Be the go-to expert for HR and management on a broad range of personnel-related legal issues, including social legislation, collective labor agreements, internal HR regulations, and remuneration frameworks.
- Support HR and managers in preventing and managing individual employment conflicts in a constructive and legally compliant way.
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents including employment contracts, internal policies, dismissal letters, and collective agreements.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, pragmatic, and actionable advice for HR and business leaders.
- Ensure full legal compliance of all HR activities while aligning them with internal values and policies.
- Collaborate closely with trade unions and employee representatives, maintaining constructive and trust-based relationships through formal and informal channels.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects with a legal dimension, ensuring all initiatives are supported by sound legal insight.
- Manage litigation files in collaboration with external counsel when necessary.
- Actively contribute to the development and communication of clear, transparent, and up-to-date HR policies.
- Stay current on legal developments, particularly in social and labor law, and proactively translate regulatory changes into internal practices.
- Ensure legal alignment with banking sector regulations, especially in areas like sound remuneration practices.
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Law, with a strong focus on labour and social law
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant legal advisory or HR legal role
- Strong knowledge of Belgian labor law; familiarity with financial sector regulations is a plus
- Trilingual: fluent in French, Dutch, and English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
- Known for your pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
- Capable of working independently, with good judgment and the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail, but always focused on the bigger picture
- Passionate about the human side of business and interested in the financial sector
