You will position yourself and BASF Agricultural Solutions (Belgium) as a trusted thought leader using your reach and influence to support BASF Agricultural Solutions to deliver its vision, mission and broader business strategy. By shaping the agenda, securing our FTO and LTO to allow BASF to position its products (Crop Protection: Conventional/Biological), Nutrient Management, Seed/Traits and Digital) in the Belgium (and EU) market place. This will be achieved by working with key stakeholders (internally and externally), forming strategic partnerships which are mutual beneficial across PGA, Sustainability and the Value Chain.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Monitor the political landscape related to agriculture, at the EU and national level: Tracking legislative and regulatory developments, identify challenges and opportunities to our FTO/LTO and shape the agenda through PGA, Sustainability and Value activities.
- Lead our response to socio-political issues such as food safety and sustainability. This includes shaping public discourse and managing reputational risks
- Stakeholder engagement: Manage political/stakeholder mapping and associated contact plans to build/maintaining relationships with government officials, key stakeholders, industry associations, NGOs to shape the agenda and represent the interests of BASF Ag Solutions.
- Strategic communication: Ensuring consistent, transparent, and credible messaging to enhance BASF’s reputation and trustworthiness in public and political arenas
- Sustainability Farm: BASF On farm showcase: Develop and delivery of a Sustainability Farm Platform in Belgium, which will showcase the benefits of our innovation in delivering the goals of sustainable agriculture and provide a backdrop to engage with national and European stakeholders.
- Internal coordination: Proactively liaise with key internal stakeholders, including Head of Country, Head of Marketing, Head of PGA EMEA West to develop road maps for PGA, Sustainability and Value Chain. Work across a matrix at a local level incl. crop advisory team, APE Brussels office etc.
- Representing BASF and its interests within industry groups, national authorities and/or research institutes alongside key stakeholders and industry experts. Also, within BASF – AP, APE (inc, Brussels Office), APE/W and APE/WB from a PGA, Sustainability and Value Chain perspective.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- You are a person of conviction and displays a passion for agriculture
- You are holder of a degree as agronomical engineer, bio-engineer or similar.
- You have proven track record in strategic communication, including crafting and delivering clear, credible messaging to diverse stakeholders such as policymakers, NGOs, and media
- You have a strong background in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships across public and private sectors
- You are enthusiastic, team-player but can work independently and be self-motivated, an innovative thinker and display excellent interpersonal skills.
- You are able to prioritise activities which have maximum business value and impact.
- You are a good communicator (orally and in writing), and master three languages: Dutch, French and English.
