Are you ready to discover the role of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Expert in Netcompany?
As a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Expert you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMware/Omnissa Horizon).
- Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical point of contact for the VDI service.
- Lead improvements across all VDI-related service components.
- Deliver on project objectives assigned during PI Planning.
- Maintain system documentation, support procedures, and on-call/cover arrangements, including proactive upgrade planning.
- Configure, maintain, and improve the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, ensuring effective service administration and scheduled maintenance.
- Perform regular system health checks (daily/weekly/monthly), and implement automation and streamlining initiatives.
- Optimize system performance and resource usage, including capacity analysis and planning.
- Apply your in-depth experience in the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of VMware/Omnissa Horizon VDI solutions.
Qualifications
What would make you a fit for the role:
- 5+ years of experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, preferably VMware/Omnissa Horizon
- Strong skills in VDI administration (vCenter, VM management, storage configuration, Windows servers/workstations)
- Proven experience managing large-scale, mission-critical environments (24/7)
- Ability to maintain and update OS images and assist users with VDI operations
- Basic networking knowledge (load balancing, firewalls, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes
- Familiarity with service management processes (ITIL, service lifecycle)
- Excellent communication skills in English, working knowledge of French would be a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset
- Collaborative attitude and being comfortable when working in multicultural, international teams
It would also be a plus if you match some of the following:
- VMware certifications
- Experience in Active Directory design and implementation
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk or SCOM
- Understanding of Agile and SAFE methodologies
