Our Global IT Core Services team is looking for a (Senior) System Administrator to work on the configuration, implementation, automation, and maintenance of various technologies and products managed by the IT department. This role focuses on maintaining and updating IT infrastructure products, particularly network and server components, to ensure connectivity and communication between all machines within Melexis.
More specifically, you will:
- Maintain and update IT infrastructure products, with a focus on network and server components.
- Act as a tech lead, dedicating 20 to 30% of your time to team coordination, goal setting, workload management, technical guidance, and training (in a preferred scenario).
- Manage and update IT products, including evaluating new technologies, planning migrations, and following product roadmaps.
- Plan and execute network renewals across multiple sites, including migration activities.
- Troubleshoot issues, document problems, and support the service desk as part of daily responsibilities.
- Coordinate team activities and address technical challenges, including cybersecurity and scalability.
- Automate system administration tasks by shell scripting and/or company configuration management system.
- Participate in projects to deliver business value and write/maintain all relevant project documentation.
- Analyze the root cause of recurring incidents and resolve them in a timely manner to avoid recurrence.
YOUR PROFILE
- A professional bachelor's degree with relevant experience or a master's degree in business informatics or computer science is preferred.
- Approximately five years of experience as a System Administrator in comparable IT infrastructure environments of similar size and complexity, with a focus on Linux OS administration.
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, encompassing networking and server management.
- Strong understanding of Linux environments.
- Experience with virtual server infrastructure, preferably VMware.
- Good hardware knowledge: workstation, server, LAN equipment, WAN equipment.
- Good knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, software (installation, troubleshooting, development), and backup systems.
- Experience with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for networking hardware and Palo Alto products for firewalls is desired.
- Working experience in BASH scripting or Python development is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Debian and RedHat is a plus.
- Knowledge of IT security principles and methods, cybersecurity, and privacy principles is a plus.
