After a thorough training period you will be responsible for the entire bookkeeping from A to Z of Algemene Ondernemingen Soetaert and its Temporary Partnerships. You will be assisted in this by an Assistant Accountant.
As a Senior Accountant, you are a key figure within our finance department. You are responsible for the accurate and timely closing of the accounts and play an active role in fulfilling fiscal obligations and reporting. You serve as the central point of contact for financial matters within the organization and work closely with both internal colleagues and external partners.
Your responsibilities include, among others:
- Periodic closing of the accounts (monthly and quarterly), including year-end closing and preparation of the annual financial statements.
- Handling of tax declarations such as VAT, intra-community listings, and preparation of the corporate tax return, in collaboration with the tax department.
- Reporting to the consolidation team of Jan De Nul Group.
- Close cooperation with the controller to ensure correct internal allocation of costs and revenues.
- Supervising the assistant accountant and acting as the financial point of contact within the organization.
- Maintaining contacts with external parties such as the auditor, banks, and partners in temporary joint ventures.
- Building in-depth knowledge of financial flows and proposing optimizations.
- Following up on insurance files.
With your experience, accuracy, and insight, you actively contribute to the financial health and efficiency of our organization.
What do you need?
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy-Taxation and several years of relevant work experience. You are analytical and work accurately. You like to take initiative and you have a critical view. Difficult files are a challenge for you and you are eager to learn. You like to work independently and you are stress resistant. Finally, you can communicate fluently in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus. You will work at the office in Ostend.
