Join us as a Junior Accountant where you’ll gain hands-on experience working with the accounting of 12 entities across Europe. This role offers a wide variety of responsibilities across accounting, treasury, and reporting, giving you the opportunity to develop a well-rounded financial skill set.
Starion Group and Nexova Group are 2 sister companies that are managed centrally under one management and corporate service team. While you will be hired by the Nexova Group entity, you will directly contribute to the activities of both companies; giving you the opportunity to be based in either one of our offices in Belgium (Wavre or Libin)
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Managing day-to-day accounting tasks for several entities simultaneously.
- Contributing to the accurate and timely bookkeeping across the Group.
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Managing the AP mailbox and ensuring smooth processing of invoices and expenses.
- Receiving, verifying, and reconciling invoices (including travel expenses) for multiple companies.
- Working closely with internal teams to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data.
- Reviewing and resolving invoice discrepancies, aged debt, and open AP balances.
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Preparing, checking, and routing sales invoice proposals for approval.
- Gathering and attaching relevant documentation (e.g., receipts) to invoices.
- Sending payment reminders (via email or phone) and supporting the preparation of monthly customer statements.
- Cash Management & Treasury
- Preparing, verifying, and uploading payments.
- Importing daily bank statements and performing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monitoring payment reminders and following up as needed.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Booking and tracking assets.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly closing reports and annual audits.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accountancy.
- At least 1-2 years proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping, ideally within an international environment.
- Familiarity with accounting programs and software, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Proactive attitude, problem solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge on data entry.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Other European languages will be an asset.
