For the eAOP program, we are looking for an experienced IT Technical Lead who will lead the IT pillar within this strategic program.
What is the eAOP program?
Airports are crucial links within the airspace network. They connect flights, ensure smooth traffic flows, but often also form bottlenecks. That is why the concept of the Airport Operations Plan (AOP) and the Airport Operations Centre (APOC) were introduced within the European SESAR program, with the aim of a more collaborative and proactive management of airport operations.
Objective of the eAOP program: to improve the performance of Brussels Airport in terms of connectivity, intermodality, punctuality, efficiency and reliability – with real-time information and continuous situational awareness as a foundation.
Your role as IT Technical Lead
As IT Technical Lead, you will be the right hand of the eAOP Program Manager. You will be responsible for the IT component of the program, which consists of multiple (sub)projects with potentially significant IT impact.
You combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills, and you ensure that IT deliverables are delivered according to plan and quality.
What will you do?
- Project Management
Monitoring all IT deliverables within the eAOP program
Managing multiple complex projects with internal and external stakeholders
Monitoring and following up on IT governance
Reporting on progress and risks
Supporting project team members and coordinating dependencies
Budget monitoring and helping to shape roadmap
- PI Planning & Goal Monitoring
Organizing PI planning sessions
Monitoring objectives and reporting on progress
Promoting alignment between teams
- Agile Ceremonies
Leading stand-ups and refinement sessions
Organizing retrospectives and following up on action points
Monthly reporting on PI progress
Monitoring team velocity and productivity
- Process Optimization
Monitoring and improving internal processes
Detecting bottlenecks and solving them together with the team
What do you bring?
- Master's degree or equivalent through experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as IT Technical Lead, Release Train Engineer or Program Manager in complex/operational environments
- In-depth knowledge of project and program management
- Experience with RFI/RFP processes
- Basic knowledge of IT architecture and software development (CI/CD)
- Experienced in working according to SAFe and Agile principles
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build bridges between various stakeholders
- Decisiveness: you know when to lead and when to follow
- You speak the language of both technical and non-technical teams
Skills
Demonstrable experience in leading and supervising projects
Demonstrable experience with terminology, organization, roles and processes of the PM methodology (e.g. Prince2, PMBok, ...)
Higher education (Master or Bachelor) with technical/engineering background or equivalent through experience.
Demonstrable experience with Agile / Scrum
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ITIL
Demonstrable experience as an IT Technical Lead, Release Train Engineer or Program Manager in complex/operational environments
Demonstrable experience in Change and Release management
Demonstrable experience in Jira/Confluence
Demonstrable experience in SAFE/Agile environments
