A strong player like Jan De Nul Group also requires a strong Finance Department. This department guarantees the provision of financial expertise to the entire group. For example, the Accounting team processes the financial data of the various companies, branches, and Temporary Partnerships within Jan De Nul Group. The team consists of around 20 colleagues and is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial accounting for both domestic and international projects.
As an Accountant, you are responsible for the execution and follow-up of the accounting for the assigned projects from A to Z. You handle the general accounting (statutory and analytical) in all its aspects.
Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the accounts payable and receivable of Temporary Partnerships and legal entities.
- Recording, verifying, and processing purchase and sales invoices.
- Tracking financial transactions.
- Preparing and submitting tax declarations, such as VAT and Intrastat.
- Reporting to external parties (auditors, authorities, banks, etc.).
- Following up on financial bookkeeping (e.g., banks and accounts).
What do you need?
You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Taxation and at least 2 years of relevant work experience. You are analytical and precise. You take initiative and have a critical eye. Complex cases are a challenge for you, and you have a strong eagerness to learn. You enjoy working independently and can handle stress well.
You will be employed at our central accounting office located in Hofstade/Aalst.
