Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant was founded in 2008 and currently employs more than 160 staff members. It is a unique and open innovation pilot and demonstration facility for process development, scale-up and custom manufacturing of biobased products and processes from lab to multi ton scale. A wide and flexible spectrum of modular unit operations combined with a team of highly trained and experienced engineers and bioprocess technicians facilitates the translation of biobased laboratory processes into viable industrial processes.
To date, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant has successfully performed 500+ projects on a bilateral basis with 200+ companies from all over the world. It was/is also involved in more than 50 consortium-based public projects.

In search of
- You have a technical background in bio-based processing or industrial biotechnology.
- You have affinity and experience with research and development projects for bio-based products and processes.
- You have a technical degree and know-how base, combined with a marketing and business sense.
- You have an internationally oriented profile and communicate fluently in English. Knowledge of Dutch, French or German is an asset.
- Experience with European projects (HorizonEurope, InnovationFund, CBE-JU, Interreg, LIFE+) drafting and/or management is a must.
- You have a proven track record of writing granted project proposals within the field of bio-economy and you enjoy very much writing new proposals.
- You are very well organised.
What do we expect of you?
- Prospecting of new projects by attendance of brokerage events and conferences.
- Coordination of new project proposals with external partners.
- Management, reporting and administration of your granted projects
- Strong interaction with the other members of the business development team and the project execution team.
- Opportunity to move into a team leadership position
- Preferably you work on site. But remote options can be discussed.
