Task Description
Legal and Regulatory Counsel
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Department: Corporate Affairs – Regulatory Affairs
Reports to: VP Corporate & Regulatory Affairs
About the Role
As Legal and Regulatory Counsel, you will ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across all countries where Proximus Global operates. You will support the business on a day-to-day basis, helping shape compliant products and services while enabling strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, identify and analyse relevant applicable laws and regulations for given products. Provide end-to-end analysis and recommendations to the business on how to shape the product(s) to ensure compliance.
- Provide practical regulatory/legal guidance and support to the business to develop Proximus Global’s country footprint expansion and service offering strategy in compliance with local regulation. Negotiate contracts with carriers in the relevant country. Draft customer legal terms and conditions to ensure a prompt go-to-market.
- Work with National Regulatory Authorities (NRA) and other authorities, in existing footprint countries and countries where Proximus Global intends to expand, to achieve compliance with relevant applicable laws and regulations.
- Interact and collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, data privacy, product, security, sales, etc.) to ensure full compliance across Proximus Global.
- Provide practical legal/regulatory advice to the business to build its service offerings—including terms, services, tools and reports—in full compliance with local regulation, while facilitating a standardised approach where possible.
- Proactively work on regulatory compliance in Proximus Global footprint countries and recommend or implement necessary measures to mitigate risks for BICS and its customers.
- Provide ad hoc support in M&A files.

- Master’s degree in Law or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry.
