The Contract Logistic site SHE Specialist (Safety, Health and Environment, Security and Dangerous Goods) supports the Contract Logistic Site management in managing, organizing, and developing all existing certifications, SHE process controls, KPI and performance measurement, continuous improvement and reporting processes within KN Contract Logistic site … to meet both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer’s expectations.
How you create impact
- Develop and implement SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) culture within the organization, ensuring adherence to safety and security standards across all departments;
- Establish and maintain SHE processes in compliance with Kuehne+Nagel directives, European and local regulations, ensuring the organization’s compliance;
- Advise site and local management on setting and meeting Health & Safety, Environmental, Security, and Dangerous Goods (DG) compliance objectives;
- Serve as the focal point for all SHE KPIs and performance measurements, ensuring contractual requirements are met and deviations are escalated as per procedures;
- Lead the continuous improvement of SHE systems by identifying weak points and implementing corrective actions;
- Manage the Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) program, ensuring the effectiveness of root cause analysis and corrective measures;
- Oversee compliance with ISO standards (ISO 14001, 45001), manage environmental and safety inspections, and coordinate environmental permits;
- Advise site management on the handling and storage of hazardous materials (HM/DG), ensuring proper training and compliance with legal requirements.
What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years of work experience in a SHE-related position, preferably within logistics or a rapidly changing environment;
- Prevention advisor level 2;
- Practical knowledge of QSHE management systems (ISO 14001, 45001, AEO), and familiarity with local and international regulations and knowledge in QSHE systems, regulations, and processes;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Proficiency in English (B1) and Dutch (C2);
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a team player;
- Strong negotiation skills, with a diplomatic approach to create consensus and resolve issues;
- Ability to work independently, be result-oriented, and demonstrate a positive mindset, even under pressure.
