Promar is an entity of Manuport Logistics. As a Water clerk , you coordinate activities between shore and ship. This means that you’re responsible for ordering and coordinating berths, shifts, pilots, boatmen, tugs, etc.. You report ship movements to all parties involved, follow up the unloading and loading operations and you clear the ship and crew with the various authorities (port authority, customs, maritime police, etc.). You assist in all repairs and crew changes. Cargo documents are taken care of by you (Bill of lading, manifest, etc.). You are THE link between shore and ship.
Knowledge is power
At MPL, we turn knowledge into action. Who are we looking for?
- You have a logistics degree or solid experience to match it with.
- Knowledge of maritime rules and procedures, immigration laws and dangerous goods.
- Customs documents and procedures are familiar to you.
- Communication is key. You’re fluent in both Dutch and English. Bonus points for French or German.
- You have geographical knowledge of Belgian ports.
- ‘Ownership’ could be your middle name. You take responsibility.
- You’re all about integrity, positivity, and keeping it real. Just like us.
- Challenges? You solve them.
- Flexibility is your thing. You’re able to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
