We are looking for a Government Affairs Senior Advisor to join our team in Brussels. The position will start ideally in September, and will report directly to the Chief Policy Officer and Member of the Group Executive Committee.
The Government Affairs department plays a crucial role in shaping the regulatory landscape and ensuring that our business operations align with governmental policies and regulations. This department is responsible for engaging with European and national government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to advocate for the interests of our company. It works closely with internal stakeholders to develop strategies that influence policy and regulatory developments, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive business environment.
You will be primarily responsible for:
Engaging with European and national government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to represent the interests of our operations.
Developing and implementing strategies to influence policy and regulatory developments.
Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Leading projects and initiatives to enhance our services and ensure compliance with international standards.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the government and industry.
Your Profile:
5/8 years of relevant EU (primarily) regulatory and government affairs experience, with substantial experience in the financial services sector.
Very good knowledge and understanding of the European financial services regulatory framework, in particular in the area of post-trade.
International experience, diplomatic sensitivity, and proven multicultural exposure.
Experience with managing and participating in projects to defend organisation’s interest, gathered in private and/or public sector.
Leadership skills, and experience in functioning in a high-demanding complex environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages (in particular French and/or Dutch) is a plus.
