Description of the position
As a Medical Advisor Vaccines and Infectious Diseases, you will be the medical expert and responsible person for our infectious diseases’ portfolio (HIV / CMV) as well as for our preventive strategy in RSV.
The Medical Advisor Vaccines and Infectious Diseases needs to have a strong scientific knowledge of the therapeutic domain and to demonstrate excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
This is an office-based, field directed position. You will use medical knowledge and customer insights to develop the country medical affairs plan and engage in non-promotional peer to peer communication. You will focus on education, sharing, generating data and implementing programs that provide the most balanced data to our external stakeholders, scientific leaders, key decision makers and the medical community at large with the patient as the ultimate beneficiary.
In this role you will report into the Therapeutic Area Lead Vaccines and Infectious Diseases and join a team with 2 Medical Advisors Vaccines.
Primary responsibilities
Develop the local Medical Affairs Plan and execute strategically aligned tactics & activities.
Non-promotional scientific exchange with health care professionals to provide accurate, relevant and balanced data.
Collect, collate and analyze insights from external stakeholders to identify unmet needs and data gaps.
Work cross-functionally with relevant internal stakeholders and provide medical strategic input to commercial, access, clinical and regulatory stakeholders to ensure timely and appropriate access as well as launch readiness.
Ensure scientifically accurate, relevant and balanced medical education pertaining to the therapeutic area.
Implement investigator initiated & local epidemiologic and (non-)interventional data-generating opportunities, to benefit the medical community and patients; highlight/ address unmet medical needs, data gaps.
Collaborating with local clinical trial operations and investigators to identify opportunities to implement new phase 2 and 3 studies in the country.
Representing the Medical Department at local or regional Medical Congresses & Symposia.
Your profile
MD, PharmD or PhD in Life Sciences is required.
Passion for the therapeutic areas of interest; strong scientific baseline knowledge in vaccines, prevention, infectious diseases, HIV and RSV is a plus.
2-3 years experience as a medical advisor or medical affairs manager is a plus.
Proficient in scientific and clinical judgment with expertise in clinical trial methodologies and data interpretation.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proactive, hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous learning.
Strong HCP facing skills, including active listening and effective probing techniques.
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while thriving under pressure.
Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Committed to compliance and quality, adhering to business integrity and ethical standards.
Confident and engaging presenter with excellent communication skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment and navigate cross-departmental networks.
Innovative and digitally savvy mindset.
Preference for candidates fluent in English, French, and Dutch, with strong oral and written communication skills.
