About SEFA:
The Sustainable Energy Finance Association (SEFA) is a Brussels-based, European Not for Profit entity established in 2021 accelerating the transition to a net zero carbon economy by advancing the development and financing of sustainable energy across Europe’s built environment.
Position Overview:
The Sustainable Energy Finance Association (SEFA) is seeking a mission-driven Project Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of a growing portfolio of EU-funded projects aimed at scaling up building renovation finance and advancing policy innovation across Europe.
This is a 12-month contract starting in September 2025, with the possibility of extension. The position is remote, with occasional travel to SEFA Brussels HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage deliverables for LIFE-funded initiatives
- Analyse National Building Renovation Plans and Social Climate Plans to extract financing and policy insights.
- Draft and deliver policy briefs, financial factsheets, and other strategic materials.
- Engage with stakeholders including local authorities, financial institutions, energy service companies (ESCOs), and EU policymakers.
Qualifications:
- University degree in engineering, finance, banking, or accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing EU-funded projects (e.g. LIFE, Horizon Europe, Interreg).
- Demonstrated expertise in energy efficiency finance and investment mechanisms.
- In-depth understanding of relevant EU legislative frameworks, including: Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), REPowerEU Plan
- Excellent writing, presentation, and coordination skills in English (C1+); additional EU languages are an asset.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
