YOUR TASKS
- You will be hired as one of two team-leads of a consortium of several PhD students and master students working on the development of Covalent Organic Frameworks, photocatalytic semi-conductors for a range of selective oxidation reactions.
- You will be integrated in an international team of about 20 researchers, working on porous materials (MOF, COF) with an emphasis advanced synthesis and thorough and advanced characterization of the materials.
- As a postdoc you will also hold lab management responsibilities and be in charge of the operation and functioning of several analysis instruments.
- You will be involved in guiding master and junior PhD students, assistance in writing papers, reviews and projects and assisting the professor in the general management of the team.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a Master’s degree and a PhD degree in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, physics or physical engineering. The PhD degree must be accredited or accepted in Europe.
- Your PhD and publication list clearly show a strong expertise in the synthesis of MOFs, their characterization and their use in catalysis, sensing or luminescence.
- More specifically, you have a proven track record in the synthesis of defected MOFs (defect-engineering) and the influence of defects on the chemico-physical properties of the materials.
- You have published in international journals on these topics and/or you have attended/presented in conferences.
- You speak/write/read fluently English.
- You are eligible or can become eligible in a 3-month period to work in Belgium/Flanders
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a contract of definite duration of 1 year, for 30% of a FTE. Details can be discussed.
- Your contract will start on 1/11/2025 at the earliest.
