INTERNSHIP - DATA TEAM
The UITP Data team regularly collects data on public transport systems worldwide to deliver statistics reports and update the internal datasets. Data collection is performed either via desk research or via dedicated surveys addressing the association’s member companies.
The Data team is looking for a student who could collaborate with the team and support the project “Global LRT figures 2025”.
Project:
Since 2015, UITP has been publishing key indicators on global urban rail systems, including ridership, number of lines, network length, number of stations and fleet size. LRT Statistics Brief 2022 available at this link.
The intern will support the collection of LRT metrics at the city level, primarily using online resources, assist in updating the LRT data set and with the analysis for report production.
Profile:
The candidate is a student experienced in data collection, analysis and visualisation, and he/she is able to summarise results in visuals and short reports (Microsoft Office Programs).
Analytical mind with aptitude for processing data.
Excellent oral and writing skills in English.
The intern will be working with the Managers of the Data Team and under the supervision of the K&I Deputy Director.

Location: Brussels or remote.
Duration: minimum 3 months (preferably August – October)
Conditions: ideally under internship agreement with university - this is an unpaid internship but UITP offers reimbursement of Public Transport (Brussels) and internet connection.
