Support projects through high-quality, detail-oriented execution:
- Execute detailed site surveys, land clearing, excavation, grading, and utility relocation
- Set up site logistics, access roads, temporary facilities, and construction equipment
- Build foundations, structures, drainage, utilities, and earthworks as designed
- Develop and update early-works and civil-works budgets
- Implement corrective actions when work drifts from plan
- Carry out risk-mitigation plans once approved
- Maintain complete records of site and civil activities, material receipts, and change orders
- Prepare permits, inspections, approvals, and other required documents
- Draft regular progress reports for the Project Manager
Support projects with rational, data-driven assessments:
- Identify and assess risks in site conditions, environment, logistics, and technology
- Monitor and verify civil-work quality against standards and specifications
- Track schedule, budget, and performance indicators for site and civil works
- Review and audit safety checks and risk assessments; validate mitigation actions
- Conduct inspections of civil works; document and correct non-conformities
- Evaluate bids and quotes for civil materials, equipment, and services
- Estimate costs and control spending for early and civil works
- Examine deliveries to ensure they match technical requirements
Support projects by facilitating communication and reporting:
- Manage all site-preparation activities and lead the civil-engineering team
- Coordinate designers, contractors, sub-contractors, and authorities
- Liaise with stakeholders to secure permits, inspections, and approvals on time
- Ensure smooth interfaces between civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural teams
- Inform the Project Manager and stakeholders through clear, regular reports
- Facilitate safety meetings and toolbox talks to enforce HSE rules
- Engage vendors and logistics providers to align deliveries with schedule
- Negotiate with contractors to resolve non-conformity issues
- Motivate the site team to follow safety and quality standards
The experience we are actively looking for:
- 10+ years in civil engineering or construction management, with 5+ years leading site prep in industrial environments
- Hands-on expertise in brownfield or heavy-industry projects (steel, manufacturing, etc.)
- Proven delivery of large-scale (100 million€ or more) CAPEX projects involving early and civil works
- Fluent in English
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering (foundations, drainage, utilities), safety, and regulatory frameworks
- Valid work and residence permits for Belgium (mandatory for non-EU candidates)
- Immediate availability and presence in Belgium are preferred
