Job Description
WORKING METHODS, ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Project duration: 1100 days
Initial contract duration: 80 days
Expected start date: ASAP
Service delivery mode: Near-Site
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
• Proven 10 years experience in Java-related technologies, including J2EE, JSP, JDBC, Log4J, XML/XSL/XSLT, XQuery, XPath and Oracle WebLogic
• Proven 10 years experience in service-oriented architecture and web services: RESTful API, SOAP, WSDL, JAX-WS, JAX-RS, Oracle Service Bus, YAML;
• Proven experience in relational database management systems Oracle SQL, PL/SQL;
CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS:
A PM professional certification would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
• Excellent knowledge of the design and development of web applications;
• Excellent knowledge of web technologies and standards (e.g. HTML5, XML);
• Excellent command of coding best practices, software design and architecture patterns;
• Good knowledge of IT security concepts and secure coding guidelines
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
• Excellent Team Player
• Ability to understand, speak and write EN and FR will be an advantage;
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DIGIT B2 contain personal and confidential data
Qualifications
A minimum educational qualification is: Level of education corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a master’s level or 5 years of higher education.
If missing, but having a Bachelor degree, then still can apply after deducting 4 years from the total working experience.
