Loyens & Loeff is now looking for a dynamic associate to join the growing White Collar Crime & Compliance practice in Brussels. The practice focuses on advising and defending clients in complex business criminal law matters, regulatory compliance cases and internal investigations.
As part of our Tier 1 litigation team, you will work on sensitive cases involving white-collar crime and regulatory compliance matters (including fraud, bribery, money laundering, whistleblowing, etc.). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the further expansion of this practice, recognised as strategic for the firm.
Your profile:
- Master's degree in Belgian law with excellent academic records and postgraduate studies (such as an LL.M.) in English would be a plus;
- Min. 2 (ideally between 2 and 4) years of relevant experience in business criminal law (advising and representing clients in criminal and regulatory investigations, prosecutions, and hearings) and compliance (incl. anti-money laundering regulation);
- Full proficiency in French and English and good command of Dutch;
- You are open to work on civil/commercial disputes involving criminal/non-compliance allegations;
- You work proactively and are results-driven; you do not shy away from stepping outside your comfort zone and taking ownership;
- You are a team player, eager to learn, and you communicate easily and effectively with your colleagues (within your own team and in other teams) and clients;
- You want to further develop your skills in a challenging and international working environment and are eager to contribute to business development projects.
