Interim (Tax) Accounting Specialist (4–6 months)

7+ years (tax) accounting experience | Strong SAP expertise | Contract | Hybrid | Antwerp

Step in, clean up the tax setup, and keep the engine running

This is a short-term assignment with long-term impact. As Interim (Tax) Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a hands-on role in improving how Loop manages both indirect and corporate income tax across systems and processes. From optimizing SAP tax logic to documenting workflows - you’ll bring stability, clarity, and compliance to a high-growth environment. Bring tax compliance up to speed and SAP processes into focus

In this role, you’ll improve the quality of our indirect and corporate tax setup across multiple markets and channels, with SAP 4/HANA at the core. You’ll audit the current tax configuration, fix errors, and help future-proof the system while we are centralizing our worldwide indirect tax compliance. At the same time, you’ll document the right processes and build clarity for everyone involved—from tax advisors, external auditors, to the internal Finance team. You’ll also jump in to support the core Accounting team during monthly closings or audit prep, making sure nothing slips through while we scale.

Your other responsibilities:

• Review and refine SAP tax logic (indirect tax + corporate income tax) for accurate compliance
• Document end-to-end tax accounting flows and decision points across key jurisdictions
• Assist with tax filings and local requirements during peak workload or transition periods
• Perform general ledger reviews and reconciliations, 
• Provide ad hoc support to the Accounting team on operational accounting tasks as needed (e.g., month-end close, journal entries, accounts payable)
• Act as liaison with external tax advisors and auditors where needed

How you’ll succeed as an Interim (Tax) Accounting Specialist

This role is about bridging gaps—between tax rules and system logic, between busy teams and solid support. You’ll need to jump in fast, navigate complexity, and be self-sufficient in getting things done. Attention to detail, process thinking, and strong communication are must-haves. If you’ve worked in high-paced finance teams before, you know the drill—and you’re ready to add value from day one.

These key competences will set you up for success:

• 7+ years experience in (tax) accounting, with both indirect and corporate tax exposure
• Proven success improving SAP tax logic and documentation
• Familiarity with ecommerce, DTC, or retail industry structures
• Strong general accounting knowledge (e.g., reconciliations, closings)
• Able to work independently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment
