The QHSSE Department monitors the policy as regards Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment. On civil as well as dredging, environmental and offshore projects all over the world, they support the people in charge with the implementation, the control and the improvement of the QHSSE Management System. Because our people are our greatest capital!
You start with four weeks training: experts who came before you will teach you everything there is to know. And you will get to practice in one of our virtual simulators. Next, you will travel to the project where we need you the most. This could be anywhere in the world. As a Quality Advisor / Engineer and key team member, you will manage all Quality matters on your project:
- You continuously strive to keep the balance between quality, cost and timeframe, while preserving the compliance with our Jan De Nul Group Management System, client requirements and (local) legislation.
- Evaluate the various execution techniques from a Quality point of view in order to help selecting the most appropriate equipment in collaboration with the Project Engineers and specialised in-house departments.
- Assess potential suppliers and subcontractors and assist in their selection.
- Evaluate the risks and define SMART objectives for your project.
- Prepare project specific Quality documents (project execution plan, inspection and test plan) and provide hands-on support to the project team during their implementation in execution phase.
- Execute trainings, audits and inspections, identify Non-Conformities and propose Opportunities for Improvement. Report to the Project Management team on the performance and the need to improve the Quality Management System on your project. Explain and defend your recommendations towards your project team, (joint venture) partners and the client.
Two months on, one month off
As an expat on one of our global projects, you will work within a different work regime. This usually includes two months of 12-hour work days, six days a week, followed by one month off. This work regime may vary depending on the project. It is demanding work, but you will gain a wealth of knowledge and experience and during your month off, you are free to live life your way.
What do you need to have
You hold a Master's degree in a technical or science discipline (construction or mechanics). Knowledge of the English language is a must, additional language skills are a plus.
You are result-driven, have a proactive nature and the ability to prioritise and plan effectively in order to meet specific deadlines, along with a confident, meticulous and professional attitude. These are essential character traits for this position.
You like to work in a team. As we work on different continents, with different nationalities and religions, willingness to travel and being open minded are also core requirements. You preferably have experience in successfully working with different clients and teams.
You like to combine time spent in the field with reporting and follow-up. You have a practical and hands-on approach and continuously try to communicate, coach and guide people.
You have a problem-solving mind-set and a strong sense of self-initiative in order to improve the working culture and deliver the projects with a high quality standard on time and within budget.
You will work in a rotation system of 2m/1m
