The role
We are looking for a Policy Analyst with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, strong quantitative skills and a background in EU policy analysis. You will join our busy team to deliver high-quality research and support our growing portfolio of projects.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct research and draft analytical reports on a wide range of EU policy topics, for example intra-EU mobility, availability of medicinal products, equal treatment of minority groups, and restriction on pesticides use.
- Design and implement stakeholder consultations (interviews, focus groups, and surveys) across the EU Member States and stakeholder groups.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data using tools such as Excel and Stata, R, or Python and methods such as discourse analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and propensity scoring matching.
- Supporting client relationships through client meeting attendance and participation, and preparation of materials for clients.
- Contribute to business development, including analysing tender specifications and writing sections of proposals.
- Participate in the learning culture of Milieu through attendance and contribution to internal presentations on methodologies, themes, and projects.
What you’ll bring (minimum requirements)
- Master’s degree in political science, economics, or another relevant discipline, with a strong interest in public law and policy.
- At least 2 years’ relevant work experience (consultancy experience is an advantage).
- Proficiency with statistical software. (Excel, and Stata, R or Python)
- Solid knowledge of EU institutions and policy processes.
- Independent, proactive, and quality-driven mindset.
- Organised and practical, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and spoken English (report drafting experience required).
Nice to have
- Proven experience with EU data sources, i.e. Eurostat, Eurofound, and OECD.
- Familiarity with the European Commission’s Better Regulation guidelines.
- Proficiency in additional EU languages.
