As Mechanical Design Engineer you are together with your colleagues responsible and involved from the preliminary design of our maritime and offshore projects and fleet.
You will be part of our Marine Design and Engineering department. Each project is different and an optimum configuration is created every time. And if it doesn’t exist, we make it ourselves!
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you are responsible for the designing, processing and follow-up of production drawings for our dredging equipment, our dredging fleet and offshore structures.
Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Designing preliminary concepts.
- Consulting with internal departments to determine design constraints.
- Drawing up designs of components and steel structures for ships and offshore structures in 2D & 3D from initial design to production drawings.
- Supporting the ship construction department in getting the preliminary design for new build vessels on paper.
- Preparing the technical design package for logistics, maintenance and production.
- Implementing design modifications and improvements, keeping the design data up to date.
What do you need to have?
A bachelor degree in electromechanical engineering or industrial product design
You have several years of experience in the design of steel or machine constructions
- You feel closely connected to mechanical and CAD design, and you have good technical understanding.
- Experience with marine design, ship structures or offshore structures is an advantage, along with knowledge of Siemens NX, AutoCAD and PTC Windchill.
You will work from our centralized offices in Aalst, Belgium.
