Government relations and regulatory strategy:
GRRS’s mission is to advance LSEG’s policy agenda and profile with key policy customers as well as serve as a strategic adviser on reputational issues and business initiatives. Our work is focused around four pillars: advocacy, engagement, thought leadership and advisory. We partner with business divisions and functions as well as with our colleagues in the Corporate Affairs & Marketing Division to position LSEG as a trusted resource and leader with vision with key decision-makers on policy issues impacting the future of our industry. The GRRS team is truly global, comprised of nearly 30 professionals across 11 LSEG offices globally, with team members speaking 16 languages across 14 different nationalities.
What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Director GRRS Europe, the Manager, GRRS Europe is defining strategies to influence policy, legislative, and regulatory outcomes to support the Group’s business and strategic objectives in the region principally on the wide range of sustainable finance issues through:
  • Leading the advocacy and strategy on developments linked to the Group sustainable finance priorities including SFDR, CSRD, CSDD, ESG Ratings and data.
  • Anticipation, analysis, and communication of policy, legislative, regulatory, and political developments that impact the Group’s strategic and business priorities across Europe in this field, developing and implementing advocacy and engagement strategies to shape them.
  • Handling and growing LSEG’s network of EU policymakers, regulators, politicians, industry bodies and counterparts, academics, and think tanks primarily in Brussels.
  • Advising on key political and regulatory engagements across Europe.
  • Collaborating with the Global GRRS team and the wider Corporate Affairs and Marketing team on key Group-wide initiatives and projects.
What you’ll bring:
  • Strong political and strategic skill; capacity to handle and grow deep and positive relationships with LSEG’s key partners across Europe.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable finance issues including SFDR, ESG benchmarks, CSRD, CSDDD, and ESG ratings and data.
  • Good knowledge and experience in EU policymaking and / or EU institutions.
  • Good understanding of geopolitical dynamics impacting the Group's operations and positioning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization proactively.
Key relationships and committees:
  • Internal: Senior level strategic engagement across breadth and depth of Group, including ExCo and divisional senior management, regional heads of divisions and businesses, function specific partners on key issues.
  • External: Politicians, policymakers, regulators, central bankers, customer and competitor peers, industry bodies, academics and think tanks in Brussels primarily but also other EU capitals.
