We seek to appoint an enthusiastic intern to join the Research & Innovation and Quanti team. The successful candidate is expected to gain first-hand insights of a range of policy areas, including R&D platforms, open science policy, innovation ecosystems, technology and research infrastructures.
The intern will be introduced to various methods and types of works, including evaluation studies and impact assessments, design of monitoring frameworks (including scoreboards) and market analysis.
Technopolis Group is leading a broad range of projects for the European Commission and the successful candidate will contribute to projects for DG RTD, DG EAC, DG GROW and respective executive agencies. English at a working proficiency level is a requirement.
Your profile
- Recently completed a Master’s degree or currently a student in the final year of a Master’s programme, preferably in economics, mathematics, or applied statistics;
- Strong skills in data treatment & analysis and coding (e.g. Python, R, NLP methods etc)
- Acquainted with qualitative research methods (e.g. literature review, desk research, interviews, case studies, surveys);
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point;
- Interest in the developments in European Commission policies, in particular in science, technology and innovation;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Willingness to learn about new topics and methods, and gain new skills.
- Proficiency in other languages;
- Use of specific software (e.g. PowerBI, Atlas.ti etc.).
Your responsibilities
Contribute to ongoing projects, including tasks like:
- Support for quantitative data collection and analysis;
- Support in econometric modelling;
- Support in developing and implementing surveys;
- Conduct desk research on a specific topic;
- Conduct interviews with various stakeholders (industry, agencies, public sector, etc.);
- Support of drafting case studies;
- Support in drafting analytical summaries;
- Contribute to the organisation of workshops and working groups, both online and on-site.
