Global Counsel is looking for a talented and proactive Associate/Senior Associate to join our team, focusing on coordinating our large-scale, long-term strategic projects.
You'll provide advice and support to internationalised corporates and investors on major policy and political developments, focussing on how these impact the clients’ business strategies and bottom line. As part of this, you will provide essential project management and logistical support to Project Leads, ensuring seamless execution from planning through delivery. Beyond project coordination, you'll be instrumental in monitoring progress, facilitating communication among internal and external stakeholders, as well as contributing with your insight on processes and substance.
We are seeking an individual with 3-7 years of experience in project management, project coordination, or similar roles where strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills were critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Client coordination and advice
- Monitoring and analysis: support on the regular policy and stakeholder monitoring and analysis of key developments in the EU agenda with a focus on biotech and life sciences, geopolitics and trade.
- Strategic advice: provide advice on commercial and engagement strategies, supporting clients’ positioning and reputation building efforts.
- Content delivery: Provide thoughtful input and ideas on content and substance to support team’s delivery.
Project Coordination & Support
- Logistical Oversight: Provide comprehensive support across large and complex project team structures, including scheduling meetings, support in managing and coordinating resources, and organizing project documentation.
- Progress Monitoring: Actively track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring all team members are on schedule and contributing effectively to planned outcomes.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present regular progress reports to Project Leads and senior leadership, highlighting achievements, risks, and areas requiring attention.
- Stakeholder Interface: Serve as a key liaison across project teams and with the senior team, facilitating clear communication and ensuring timely flow of information and decisions.
- Problem solving: Identify delivery risks or execution challenges, and propose solutions for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Relationship Management
- Team Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication within and across project teams, promoting a collaborative and productive environment.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive project information and discussions with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Profile & Skills:
- Policy analysis and advice: strong understanding of the key trends and debates around biotech and life sciences in Europe – including, but not limited to, Economic Security Strategy, EU Biotech Act, EU Life Sciences Strategy.
- Project Management Fundamentals: Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Organizational Excellence: Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaborative tools. Experience with project management software is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior leaders.
- Proactive & Adaptable: A highly proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying issues and proposing practical solutions.
