POLITICO is seeking an experienced Ad Operations Manager for our pioneering and growing media company, based in London, for a full-time until the end of the year (with possibility of extension). The Advertising Operations team are the experts on the processes and systems that support the delivery of POLITICO’s advertising campaigns. We are looking for a team player to understand our digital ad products and ad server tools to support campaign executions and related projects.
You will report to senior Ad operational leadership and work alongside peers with similar job roles. Your responsibilities will include managing stakeholders and leading booked campaigns. Additionally, you will support the team by championing and supporting various Ad operations tasks, such as AI, programmatic advertising, Order mgmt tools, task management tools, inventory management, reporting, data and insights, tech and troubleshooting, and utilizing various other tools and platforms.
While this role is not primarily focused on people management, you might mentor or oversee trainees or very junior positions as necessary.
What You’ll Do
- Support Media Solutions team with delivery of campaigns across main channels – display, mobile, newsletter, print, video, podcasts, social media
- Respond to ticket system and book order / line items on Google Ad Manager (GAM), setup and prepare ad campaign launch
- Ensure advertising creatives follow ad policies and specifications upon launch
- Collaborate to keep internal documentation up-to-date on ad benchmarks, trackers, reports and workflows
- Oversee and monitor the performance of ongoing campaigns to ensure proper execution and delivery
- Perform testing and QA on ad products and campaign materials
- Troubleshoot live issues
- Provide guidance to Client Solutions managers in project delivery: benchmarks, answering clients’ technical questions, searching for new solutions if needed, building custom ad units, etc.
- Collaborate actively with other teams, such as Brand Content Studio, Marketing, Events, and Production to develop and execute campaigns accurately aligned with business goals
- Mentor more junior members of the team and trainees Support the day-to-day operational needs of the Media Solutions organization
What You’ll Need
- Must be proficient in MS Excel and general familiarity with web languages (HTML, CSS, etc.) and analytics tools
- 4+ years of experience in media / ad operations with a focus on ad serving technologies: Google Ad Manager, third-party ad servers, ad trafficking, DCM tags, HTML5, Javascript, VAST, etc.
- Have a good understanding of both business needs and technology capabilities - plus be capable of translating that knowledge in plain terms
- Manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and comfortable with shifting priorities
- Strong analytical abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ability to work collaboratively with teams
- Understanding of programmatic advertising
- Past experience with ticketing systems (Asana, Jira, etc) is a plus
- Prior experience at a media agency, DSP/SSP, ad tech provider or digital publisher is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate (preferably in advertising, data analytics, marketing, or another related field) Fluent English, written and spoken, and any other European language
