Your Mission:
As a Web Scraper Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and optimize web scraping scripts that collect vital market intelligence from competitor websites, regional databases, and other sources. Your work will directly support our strategic initiatives by providing accurate, timely, and actionable data.
Your insights will help us to:
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to anticipate industry shifts.
- Identify tariff gaps by comparing current customer tariffs with the best available options from competitors.
- Track fiber deployment strategies and analyze their impact on customer retention and churn in newly deployed areas.
- Support the creation of a comprehensive customer view, enabling data-driven decision-making across departments.
What You’ll Do:
Web Scraping Development
- Design, build, and refine robust web scraping scripts using frameworks like BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Selenium.
- Handle dynamic website structures and anti-scraping measures to ensure continuous data collection.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all activities adhere to legal standards and ethical guidelines.
Data Integration & Analysis
- Prepare and clean scraped data for integration into dashboards and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Transform raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic planning and operational improvements.
- Automate data workflows to ensure real-time or scheduled updates, reducing manual effort.
Business Impact & Strategy
- Work closely with data analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand their needs.
- Support the articulation of the business value derived from web scraping activities.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in data collection processes and tools.
Staying Up to Date
- Keep abreast of the latest web scraping technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Explore new sources and methods to enhance data quality and coverage.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal standards, including respecting robots.txt files and data privacy regulations.
Your profile:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Python and familiar with web scraping libraries such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, or similar. Experience with APIs and extracting data from dynamic websites is essential
- Understanding of telecommunications industry dynamics, including market trends, tariffs, and infrastructure deployment would be a plus
- Analytical Mindset with the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decisions
- Knowledge of legal considerations related to web scraping and data privacy
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and techniques
- Committed to data accuracy, quality, and integrity
- Fluent in English, with good understanding of French and Dutch preferred
