Test Automation Specialist

We are currently looking for an "Automation Engineer" to strengthen the Cronos Europa team.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

• Design, prepare and monitor automated tests.
• Contribute to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing within the testing process.
• Evaluate tools and technology for automation best fit to the project within the DevSecOps approach.
• Create an approach and methodology for building a test automation architecture.
• Design and develop (new or modified) test automation solutions that meet the business needs.
• Enable the transition of testing from a manual to an automated approach.
• Create automated test reporting and metrics collection.
• Capable of performing tasks independently with minimal guidance or oversight.
• Knowledge of continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with QA team members, providing guidance and support on best practices.
• In-depth understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle) processes

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Knowledge of test automation technologies, tools and techniques
• Hands-on experience in the creation of test automation solutions.
• Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Tracking tools.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Tools.
• Experience in the test data management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good redaction skills, experience in preparation of written reports.
• Capability of integration in an international/multi- cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments and test automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc) and testing applications in cloud environments in a plus.
• Due to the nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects.
• Excellent Team Player.
• Ability to understand, speak and write English (C1/C2) will be an advantage.
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG GROW B3 contain personal and confidential data.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• At least 5 years of experience developing and executing automated test scripts for IT applications using test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, TypeScript, Selenium WebDriver or similar).
• At least 5 years of experience in scripting languages Python, Java or JavaScript for test automation and version control systems.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing and writing test cases specifically tailored for automation, covering both functional and non-functional testing scenarios.
• At least 5 years of experience in automation of functional and regression testing for IT applications, with a demonstrated ability to identify and integrate best practices for test automation
• At least 3 years of experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).
• At least 3 years of experience with SQL scripting for data validation and verification, used in test scenarios.
• At least 3 years of experience with JIRA for tracking and managing test cycles and automation requirements (using Zephyr or Xray).
• At least 3 years of experience with API testing in automated environments, ensuring reliability and performance.
• At least 3 years of experience using Postman or SoapUI for automated API testing, including the development of scripts and validations for integration testing.

PROFILE

• Min 4 years experience
• Bachelor degree in IT
• Proficiency on Ansible
• French and English professional

CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS:

• Following certificates & standards are an asset for the performance of tasks:
• Optional certification: ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent
