Job description
The Supplier Planner Coordinator combines operational supplier planning responsibilities with people management and coordination tasks. This person plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient supply chain operations across multiple branches and departments in Europe.
The Coordinator acts as the central point of contact between supplier planners, customer planners and other stakeholders. The role involves managing escalations, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the planning process and proactively proposing effective solutions to ensure on time delivery for our automotive clients.
This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager who is located at the European Headquarters in Genk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle supplier planner tasks
- Coordinate the Supplier planner team that is located in Gent and France
- Make sure all suppliers are assigned to a supplier planner: make analysis, good life balance for supplier planners, good split up over the planner
- Search for opportunities to improve supplier performance together with Supplier Planner
- Act as first escalation point for the supplier planners and to purchasing, engineering and account manager
- Participate in supplier meetings when support is needed
- Guarantee that processes are followed (chase list, MRP list, ….)
- Organize training
- Ensure a positive team atmosphere
- Maintain close contact to Branch managers and other departments
- Check correctness of the chase list parameters and update if needed
Requirements
- Master or minimum bachelor’s degree or equal by experience.
- 7 years’ experience in material planning in a fast-paced environment.
- Automotive experience is a big plus.
- We are looking for a candidate that is willing to take Supplier Planner tasks with the team 50% of the time.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as experience working successfully in cross-functional teams.
- Positive energy to manage the team remotely and to get things done.
- Hands on, result driven and problem solver.
- Stress-resistant.
- People management experience is a plus but not required.
