Mission Overview:
Keystone Solutions is seeking a Senior Cobol Developer for a consultancy mission at a client site. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining existing applications and developing new ones. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will convert functional analyses into technical specifications and carry out the application development in Cobol. You will also be tasked with executing unit tests, creating test plans on Azure DevOps, and conducting integration/UT tests to ensure quality and compliance of the deliverables. Additionally, you will provide support to clients during validation testing and document development processes. Clear communication with the client regarding the execution and implementation of requested developments will also be part of your role. Lastly, sharing your knowledge, experiences, and documentation with other team members is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain existing Cobol applications and develop new applications.
- Convert functional analyses into technical specifications.
- Execute unit tests and create test plans on Azure DevOps.
- Conduct integration/UT tests to ensure deliverable quality.
- Support clients with validation testing and documentation of developments.
- Communicate with clients regarding development execution and implementation.
- Share knowledge with team members through documentation and training.
Requirements:
You will need a degree in Computer Science and at least 10 years of experience in the IT field. A strong knowledge of Cobol and SQL is required, along with familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server). Your proven experience as an IT trainer (at least 10 years) will be a crucial asset in mentoring less experienced colleagues. Additionally, you should have a good understanding of Java, Spring, C++, and C# (.Net framework), as well as technologies like Git, Matlab, TopKapi, and Ecodial. Certifications in Mainframe App Programming and C# are essential.
