As a Senior Analog ASIC Engineer, you will lead the definition, development, and verification of analog designs for Cochlear’s next-generation implantable hearing solutions. Working closely with the design authority, our ASIC team in Belgium, and global design partners, you’ll ensure first-time-right designs that meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards. You’ll take full ownership of electrical work packages—driving progress, resolving technical challenges, and escalating issues when needed—while ensuring all designs align with manufacturing and compliance requirements.
Accountabilities
- Analog ASIC Development: Deliver high-quality analog designs and documentation, support design trade-offs, and collaborate with vendors to meet Cochlear’s technical and regulatory standards.
- Verification & Debugging: Lead post-silicon validation using Python-based frameworks, develop test plans, and troubleshoot issues with internal teams and ASIC partners.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to development processes, contribute to risk management (e.g., DFMEA), and drive continuous improvement in design and verification practices.
- Project Ownership & Communication: Manage work packages independently, maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
Required Skills
- At least five years of Analog ASIC experience
- Strong skills and experience in analog ASIC design and implementation
- Interest in medical device development or safety-critical applications and associated quality regulations
- Broad experience in technical development involving multiple disciplines
- In depth knowledge in custom ASIC design
- ESD Standard experience.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
- Experience in the field of medical devices or another highly regulated industry
- Experience and knowledge of microelectronics packaging techniques
- Knowledge of V&V principles
