In this role, you’ll take ownership of our general ledger and financial closing processes across all our international entities. You’ll ensure full regulatory compliance, accurate and timely financial reporting, and provide critical insights that help guide our strategic decisions. You will
- Own and manage the general ledger across all ML6 entities (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, UK), ensuring accurate coding, reconciliation, and maintenance of the chart of accounts
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, coordinating across departments and ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAPs
- Prepare, review, and analyze key financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to support business leaders in making data-informed decisions
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring alignment with internal agreements and appropriate eliminations
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and tax requirements, staying up-to-date with evolving legislation in each country
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, preparing documentation and ensuring a smooth, efficient process
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, accruals, bank accounts, prepayments, and deferred revenue
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Handle statutory filings such as VAT returns across countries, ensuring accurate submissions and meeting all deadlines
- Optimize use of financial tools such as Exact Online, Teamleader Orbit, and Bright Analytics to improve efficiency and reporting
- Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and insights, supporting broader finance team objectives
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls
- Coordinate with local bookkeepers, where needed, to ensure seamless operations
Why you?
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- You bring 5+ years of experience in general ledger bookkeeping or financial accounting, ideally in a services or tech environment
- You have deep knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (Belgian, Dutch, German, UK) and a strong grasp of intercompany accounting
- You’re tech-savvy, with hands-on experience in Exact Online or similar ERP systems; familiarity with Orbit and Bright Analytics is a plus
- You’re fluent in English and Dutch; knowledge of German is a strong asset
- You are detail-oriented, analytical, and organized, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team
