Rud Pedersen Public Affairs office in Brussels opened in 2017 and has grown consistently with around 75 team members today.
In response to evolving client needs, we are looking for a Research Executive to strengthen our team and support our growing EU Funding and Partnerships practice.
We offer the opportunity to work and grow in a fast-paced, energetic consultancy environment under an initial, 6-month internship, with the potential to develop within the Rud Pedersen team.
The position
In general, the role entails:
- Following EU developments and undertaking initial research on policy issues on behalf of clients, particularly in the EU funding landscape (New MFF proposal, new State Aid CISAF guidelines, IPCEIs, STEP implementation, new SAFE and EDIP proposals, InvestEU & Omnibus Investments proposal, mid term review of Innovation Fund and Modernisation Fund, Mid Term Review of cohesion funds, European Innovation Council, funding calls under HORIZON Europe, EIC, LIFE, EDF, EU4Health, etc) ;
- Supporting the practice with legislative, regulatory and EU Funding monitoring;
- Helping to organize and execute events;
- Taking an active role in client teams, suggesting improvements for servicing of clients with regards to research;
- Participating at external events and seeking to build relationships with external contacts at an appropriate level;
- Building competence at undertaking public affairs tasks on behalf of clients.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience or studies related to project management gained within the EU institutions (DG RECOVER, DG REGIO, DG ECFIN, DG GROW, DG CLIMA, DG ENER, DG CONNECT, DG MOVE, DG RTD, etc), European Financial Institutions (EIB, EBRD, CEB, etc), National promotional Banks (CDP, CDC, BPIFrance, ICO, etc), public affairs/funding consultancies, or national governments would be highly welcomed;
- Master degree in relevant fields;
- Interest and preferably some content knowledge in one or more aspects of the EU Funding landscape (InvestEU, Recovery and Resilience Facility, Just Transition Fund, European Structural and Investment Funds, Innovation Fund, Modernization Fund, etc);
- An enthusiasm for conducting public affairs and communications in all its forms, from direct outreach to social media engagement;
- Interest in helping to organise and manage events;
- Full professional proficiency in English, with working knowledge of French or another official EU language.
Your written English skills will be tested as part of the interview process via a short written assessment.
