We are looking for a dynamic Practice Development Paralegal to strengthen our Antitrust and Foreign Investment practice group (AFIG) in Brussels. A successful candidate will provide tailored knowledge and learning support to AFIG lawyers, Knowledge Lawyers, Knowledge and Learning (K&L) and Business Development and Marketing (BDM) teams.
As a Practice Development Paralegal:
You will maintain, update and review AFIG practice’s knowledge and learning materials and resources (e.g. create new, and keep up-to-date existing, precedents, manuals, guides, trackers and wiki pages in light of legal and market developments; undertake legal and market research).
You will support the preparation and delivery of legal training (e.g. work with the Knowledge Lawyers and BDM teams to support internal and client facing presentations, write or update training materials and make them accessible to others).
You will raise awareness about legal developments and our knowledge and learning resources (e.g. flag important updates to the team where necessary).
You will support Knowledge Lawyers and BDM team with various K&L and BDM initiatives.
You will be a “super-user” of K&L technology and tools.
This is the person we are looking for:
You hold a Law degree.
You have excellent English language skills. Good knowledge of French and/or German and/or Dutch and/or Italian is an asset.
You are pro-active, keen to take ownership of the role and develop it.
You have good communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written), with an ability to work as part of a team, sharing responsibilities in a cross-border team, ensuring a seamless service for the practice.
You have a positive attitude to problem-solving.
You have strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively and to prioritise.
You have high levels of curiosity, energy, assertiveness, determination and resilience.
You have an interest in knowhow systems, technology and applications.
Experience of working in a law firm is an asset.
