Wat ga je doen
As Junior Data Scientist, you develop and implement new and existing machine learning / artificial intelligence models based on knowledge of Delhaize's business, business strategy and state of the art data science to improve Delhaize’s decision making, customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Analysis: Collect, interpret, and analyze internal and external information, assess its relevance, and make actionable recommendations for the various departments of the company.
- Model Development: Create descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive statistical, machine learning or artificial intelligence models and combine these models to deliver data products that enable Delhaize to make better decisions, improve the customer experience and become better in its operations.
- Innovation: Drive innovation within the Data & Analytics team by continuously searching for new data sources, new algorithms, and new technologies to help Delhaize make more scientific decisions based on deep understanding and use of data.
- Stakeholder management: Be able to explain the model choices and their usefulness within a product team and convince the product owner/product manager in a completely autonomous way, based on Delhaize's strategy, the state of the art in the field and the available data. Be able to popularize the developed model to explain it to all levels of the company.
- Knowledge management: Proactive monitoring of relevant market developments.
- Management of analytical projects and products: Manage analytical projects and technical/technological products. Translate business and/or technology needs into clear deliverables, with clearly defined success criteria and defined and calculated KPIs.
Wie ben jij
- You have a master's degree (at least) in one of the following areas: mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, artificial intelligence, computer science, (experimental) psychology, civil engineering, business administration with a data analytics / data science orientation, physics,...
- You have up to two years of professional experience, with an expertise in Data Science and AI.

Over Delhaize

Van een snelle stop in een Shop&Go, over dagelijkse boodschappen in een lokale Proxy tot een ruim aanbod binnen onze AD Delhaize's; en vergeet zeker onze e-commerce diensten niet.
Die hele keten van voeding, die start binnen onze Logistiek. De 2200 collega's in onze distributiecentra van Zellik en Ninove verwerken dagelijks alle producten van onze leveranciers, vaak van Belgische bodem, en brengen deze via meer dan 3000 leveringen per dag tot bij onze winkels.
Maar het stopt niet in onze winkels of logistiek. Want ook onze meer dan 1000 collega's binnen Finance, HR, IT, Commerce of Legal staan staan om elkaar en onze klanten te helpen goed te eten.
