We’re looking for a proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our Base Chemicals team in Mechelen. In this key role, you'll oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of gas and chemical shipments, manage pipeline and terminal operations, and ensure smooth, cost-effective, and compliant logistics for our petrochemical transactions. Acting as a vital link between the commercial team and logistics partners, you'll help keep operations running efficiently and strategically.
Your responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate logistics flows for gas and chemicals, optimizing cost and efficiency while ensuring product quality and contract compliance.
- Support the commercial team with logistics insights, market intelligence, and improvement strategies based on shipping activities across Europe.
- Manage compliance with safety, environmental, and sustainability standards in all logistics operations, including shipping, terminaling, and storage.
- Handle logistics-related costs, month-end closing activities, and quality/incident reporting; contribute to supplier reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide operational input for effective demurrage handling and cost recovery.
About you
- You hold a degree in Logistics, Economics, Business, or Engineering.
- You bring 3+ years of experience, ideally in maritime logistics or terminal operations.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and analytical skills are essential—you’re cost conscious and solving problems on the fly.
- You communicate clearly and confidently, building solid relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Adaptable, resilient, and ethical, you thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
- You’re fluent in English (spoken and written).
