What You’ll Do
Collaborate in a Cross-Functional Team: Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless experiences.
Participate in Product Planning: From discovery to deployment, we value your input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Develop and Enhance Features: Collaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve our industry-leading products. Help find and fix bugs at “Deel Speed.”
Provide an Exceptional, Customer-Centric Experience: Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering and attentive, customer-focused development.
Solve complex fintech problems: Build modern, resilient systems that power Deel’s financial infrastructure at global scale.
Build at scale: Design and evolve APIs, services, and infrastructure to support high-transaction volumes.
Must Have
Professional experience in fintech or financial domains: e.g., payments, accounting, exchanges, banking, or crypto.
Worked in or built systems for other financial focused companies”.
Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments: KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), transaction monitoring, or regulatory reporting.
What You Bring
Solid Backend Development Skills: Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript, with an understanding of server-side principles. Experience with at least one additional backend language is a plus.
Strong SQL Foundation: Comfortable working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases. You’ve written complex queries, handled data migrations, and contributed to data model design.
Good Understanding of OOP and Patterns: You apply object-oriented programming principles and use common design patterns in your development workflow.
Hands-on API Development Experience: You’ve built and maintained RESTful APIs, implemented input validation, used JWT or similar authentication mechanisms, and worked with queue-based systems for async processing.
Performance-Aware: You understand the basics of concurrency, idempotency, and how to write code that scales efficiently under moderate load.
Team Contributor: 3+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer, ideally in a product-focused or startup environment. You’re collaborative, curious, and open to learning from senior engineers.
