Join our Apple Security Engineering team!
We're looking for an Apple Security Engineer to help build and evolve Promon’s runtime protection for Apple apps. You'll be part of a focused, collaborative team designing and implementing cutting-edge security features that defend apps against real-world threats.
This is a great opportunity to apply your skills while diving deeper into security-focused problem solving. If you're curious about how things work under the hood—and how to keep them safe—we’d love to hear from you.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain our runtime security protection framework for Apple platforms (iOS, macOS, visionOS).
- Research and implement advanced detection and protection techniques, including jailbreak detection, runtime code injection detection, debugger detection, and anti-tampering mechanisms.
- Reverse-engineer OS internals and third-party tools to stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Collaborate closely with teammates across security, mobile development, and platform teams to continuously evolve our protection framework.
- Analyze and adapt the framework to changes in the Apple ecosystem (e.g., new iOS/macOS versions, hardware changes, security mitigations).
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong C/C++ development skills, with hands-on experience writing low-level code for Apple platforms.
- Experience with Objective-C and familiarity with Apple runtime and dynamic linking mechanisms.
- Solid understanding of macOS and iOS internals (e.g., Mach-O format, dyld, syscalls).
- Experience with reverse engineering tools and techniques (e.g., IDA, Hopper, Ghidra, Frida, LLDB).
- Familiarity with Git and macOS development environments.
- Proven ability to write clean, secure, and maintainable low-level code.
Bonus points for experience with:
- Swift and SwiftUI knowledge (especially related to app behavior and lifecycle).
- Experience with kernel-level security features on Apple platforms (e.g., PAC, sandboxing).
- Familiarity with code obfuscation, anti-debugging techniques, and runtime binary instrumentation.
- Prior work with jailbreak detection or security techniques on iOS.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Are passionate about low-level development and system internals
- Enjoy digging deep into technical challenges and learning how things really work
- Have a strong interest in security or curiosity about how to break and protect apps
- Are comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Education:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Security—or equivalent experience through work or personal projects
