To serve the common goals and ambitions within Telenet group, we are looking for an experienced Strategy Manager who is well versed in the art of business steering and working with multiple stakeholders towards a common strategic goal. The role sits in the Portfolio & Capability Steering tribe as a Portfolio Steering SPOC, responsible for the effective steering across all Telenet group entities (B2C, B2B, Capability). The role is part of the leadership team of the Tribe.
Your general responsibilities as Strategy Manager:
- Develops company vision and translates it into concrete business strategies, M&A opportunities or transformation programs
- Defines strategic agenda and priorities by identifying issues, analyzing problems and providing advice and recommendations that help executive management steer for long-term value creation and business plan delivery, in line with the strategic priorities.
- Analyses existing strategies and practices and proposes alternatives where necessary. Challenges business strategy based on external positions and (international) market analysis.
- Supports long-term business planning cycle, including translation of long-term trends and strategic themes into a business plan, in close collaboration with the business leaders
- Leads and/or initiates strategic projects to stimulate strategic thinking, the coordination of activities and stakeholder management.
Your specific responsibilities as Portfolio steering SPOC:
- Own & facilitate the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) platform (agenda, audience, decision outcomes). Co-own the road to QBR with other stakeholders (e.g. Valuestream SPOCs and Tribe Product Owners)
- Own & facilitate the (Annual Business Roadmap (ABR)/ Portfolio preparatory sessions to develop ABR, and manage Telenet group’s Capex budget
- Facilitate creation of, and consolidate reporting for, the Telenet group OKRs
- Own & facilitate, as needed, specific tracks for the Plan of Record (Telenet’s 3 year strategy plan) and Budget (1 year plan), specifically on Telenet group’s Capex
Additional detail on Portfolio steering SPOC role:
- The Portfolio SPOC is a critical role in the sense that it is a spider in the web to coordinate Portfolio decisioning (and by extension Valuestream and Tribe level activities that prep such decisions)
- Lateral management: That means this person will laterally sync with the VS discussions + drive topics / road-to discussions at the TPO cockpit – lateral management skills are critical
- Solution scenario building: Portfolio discussions are by nature not “mathematical”, which means that this person needs to be able to present potential scenarios that balance different elements (e.g. commercial intensity vs capability building vs contractual obligations) in a way that optimizes the final decision
- Neutrality: Such decisioning will need a) a highly neutral mind that can sit above the noise; b) vigilance against any suboptimal vertical decisioning; c) flexibility in thinking – to drive an optimal balance across various consequences / dimensions (short vs long term, commercial vs. capability, ...)
- Process orientation: Last but not least, the person needs to drive the highest level company governance (QBR) in a process oriented way, so that means it needs to click in with all other governance, the right audience need to be involved in the right topics, and agendas need to be managed for timely decision making

Our ideal Strategy manager:
- Strategy background in a large company or as a strategy consultant advising such companies
- 5-10 years of experience
- A strategic thinker with robust analytical skills
- Highly developed written and oral communications skills
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- Proactive and pragmatic – able to prioritize projects and agendas
- Financial modelling experience is a plus
- High personal credibility & bridge builder attitude
