The department of Chemical Process Research & Development (CPRD) focuses on the development of synthetic methodologies and processes for small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides and other emerging modalities. We currently have an open position in the CPRD High Throughput Experimentation group for a passionate Sr./Pri. Scientist in the field of AI/ML and Cheminformatics.

Job description

As a Sr. Scientist you will develop and leverage data science, machine learning, and deep learning to accelerate molecular design and reaction optimization, integrating high-throughput experimentation data with predictive modeling to enhance decision-making in R&D and enabling design of ground-breaking synthesis routes for small molecule synthetics and related modalities.

In the role you will leveraging your expertise in cheminformatics, computational chemistry, and data science, in order to quickly navigate virtual chemical spaces, build predictive models applying statistical methods to support decision-making and accelerate development of synthetic routes.

Experience and skills

• PhD with cheminformatics, computational chemistry or related subject (e.g. chemistry, chemical biology, computer science, or data science) combined with the relevant experience in applying computational tools in life science or drug development.
• Demonstrated experience with cheminformatic workflows, and familiarity with descriptors and machine learning (ML) in the context of cheminformatics.
• Ability to develop internal and external network of contacts and collaborators across functions, sites, and scientific disciplines.
• Proven track record of scientific excellence and successful research supported by peer-reviewed publications.
• Excellent scientific communication, including the ability to present complex data science concepts in digestible terms to diverse scientific audiences while leveraging innovative data visualization.
