The Senior Manager of Global Business Solutions role works with the Service Providers as well as internal resources to provide the global oversight, management, and control needed for all aspects of reliable and effective network delivery services in the EMEA region.
This individual will focus on management of network delivery within J&J, investigating opportunities for optimization, process improvement, and efficiencies amongst all parties we work and interact with. Additionally, this role will have oversight and management for Network Delivery compliance and ensuring all processes are following our Governance process in region.
The role is responsible for pre-consultancy, intake, understanding business requirements, and accountable for the building of solutions which comply with J&J standards, delivery of the developed solutions, and operational handover. It includes coordinating in-house resources, capacity teams, outsourced teams and vendors to ensure cost-effective and on-time delivery of solutions that meet business partners’ requirements. It will be necessary to liaise with Regional Delivery teams to ensure activities are coordinated and that there is close alignment with the responsibilities and work executed by each team. The role will also be responsible for effective communication with business partners and stakeholders at all levels and across multiple geographies. When required, the role may become involved with operational support related to the delivered solutions.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical consulting to the business, recommending network solutions that address specific requirements and solve business problems.
- Create and develop network solutions that meet J&J architectural standards, using technologies like SDN (SD-WAN), network automation, cloud solutions, 5G, WAN/LAN topologies and services and Wireless LAN (WLAN).
- Manage the implementation and delivery of network infrastructure projects, collaborating with internal and external teams, including ordering, quoting, capacity, and vendor teams.
- Collaborate with the Global Engineering team for non-standard solution designs, ensuring robust and scalable network architectures.
- Ensure seamless execution of implementation plans, working closely with vendors and resource teams to introduce services, provide documentation, and conduct operational handovers.
- Provide direction and coordination for financial planning and analysis related to the capacity teams and project initiatives. Provide data analysis and planning to ensure capacity teams are appropriately staffed and employee workloads are appropriately distributed.
- Drive service improvements and represent the regional team in the development and enhancement of global networking processes and procedures.
- Supervise and manage a team of Network Solutioning specialists, providing guidance, coordination, and support for their activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of experience is required
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience (5+ years) in networking infrastructure components, including SDN, SD-WAN, network automation, cloud solutions, 5G, WAN/LAN topologies and services, WLAN, and routing protocols and WAN technologies (VPN, BGP, EIGRP, …) is required
- Experience and understanding of IOT devices, their networking requirements, business importance, and interaction with standard infrastructure systems is required.
- Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in network and infrastructure planning, development, and deployment is required.
- Experience managing employees and contracted resources is required.
- Experiencing managing financials for project and steady state resources is required.
- Five plus (5+) years of experience managing network delivery projects with associated tools and financials for projects is required.
- Strong analytical and communications skills and ability to work independently or with others is required. Ability to positively influence timely completion of activities, negotiate maintenance windows, and appropriately review and approve exceptions and expedites is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications or demonstrated knowledge in Cisco data networking products (e.g. CCNP) including IOS, firewalls (FTD), Wireless, load balancing technologies and Software Defined Networking.
- Experience and understanding of IOT devices, Private 5G Networking, Delta-V systems, EMS/BMS systems, and facilities standards for computer and network rooms (IDF/MDF) is highly desirable.
