Job description
As a Scientist within the Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) and New Technologies (NAT) team you will be responsible for
- Developing and implementing on-/in-line process analytical tools (e.g. Raman, NIR, Laser Diffraction,…) to monitor and control critical process parameters of pharmaceutical processes during batch process and Continuous Manufacturing.
- Develop and implement lab automatization.
- Act as expert in performing statistical data analysis and building chemometric models.
- Closely collaborate with R&D process development groups (oral solid development, liquids, API development ...) and with the associated manufacturing teams to ensure implementation of PAT.
- Perform feasibilities on new analytical tools and keep screening literature for new applications/technologies.
- Report results to teams and management.
- Ensure high scientific quality standards for experiments and take ownership for these experiments.
- Author and review technical reports, protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
Education & experience
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology or a related science or Master with at least 3 years of experience is required.
- Expertise in Chemometrics is a must.
- Expertise in statistical analyses and programming (Python, Matlab or R,..) is a must.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Process Analytical Technology with focus on spectroscopic tools like NIR and Raman is required.
- Knowledge in other analytical tools (e.g. particle size tools, chromatographic tools, mass spectrometry, …) can be an asset.
- Knowledge and/or experience with (bio) pharmaceutical processes (granulation, spray drying, milling, filing, coating, lyophilization, continuous manufacturing, …) is preferred.
- Experience with working in a regulated environment is helpful.
