The QFS Compliance Manager BNL L9 is responsible for managing Quality and Food Safety compliance for the CBU in close collaboration with the Regulatory teams and the Crisis Team. This role includes acting as the deputy crisis correspondent, preparing for and coordinating the correspondent network to reduce crisis risk, and serving as the first contact for authorities regarding the QFS Function. The manager will oversee the Certification Agenda, including internal CBU audits and external audits like organic certifications. Additionally, the role involves managing the training program to ensure the right capabilities in terms of QFS Compliance and facilitating induction trainings. The QFS Compliance Manager will also lead the QFS Culture as the iCare coordinator, working with iCare ambassadors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Quality and Food Safety compliance for the CBU.
- Collaborate with Regulatory teams and the Crisis Team.
- Act as deputy crisis correspondent, preparing and coordinating the correspondent network.
- Serve as the first contact for authorities regarding the QFS Function.
- Oversee the Certification Agenda, including internal and external audits.
- Manage the training program for QFS Compliance.
- Lead the QFS Culture as the iCare coordinator.
Interactions – Internal & External:
- Build relationships with stakeholders in non-crisis situations.
- Act as the first contact person for authorities, providing timely answers.
- Represent the company on trade association technical committees with authorities or federations (e.g., Belux FAVV, BCZ, FEVIA, NVWA, VNFKD).
QFS Crisis Role:
- Act as deputy crisis correspondent for QFS, applying the POM principle.
- Guardian of emerging risks regarding QFS Compliance.
Food Safety Compliance and Quality Compliance:
- Act as the CBU Food Safety Regulatory Referent, managing emerging risks and product compliance.
- Analyse and monitor publications, complaints, and questions regarding products.
- Back-up representation of the company on trade association technical committees.
CBU Audit Program:
- Manage BNL External Certifications (e.g., Organic, Rainforest Alliance).
- Drive the CBU Internal Audit program, including internal audit lead, self-assessments, and trainings.
- Coordinate food fraud and food defense initiatives.
QFS Culture Program:
- Lead the QFS culture in the CBU and network with factories as the iCare coordinator.
- Co-define governance and ensure proper execution with business impact alongside the Head of LTO.
- Master’s or PhD in Life Sciences or Nutrition;
- 1–4 years of experience in Medical Affairs (healthcare, nutrition, science, or pharmaceutical industry);
- Strong team player with commercial acumen;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with HCPs;
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills;
- Project management skills and perseverance;
- Ability to remain calm under pressure/in a crisis;
- Ability to focus on facts, risks and ability to propose next steps;
- Self-starter with the ability to work with a great deal of autonomy;
- Knowledgeable about food industry standards and regulation;
- English is a must, French and/or Dutch are highly recommended.
