Summary
The Project Engineer is mainly focused on sales support activities, conceptual technical problem solving, information collection from real Operations, sharing and training. The yearly detailed objectives of the function (KPI) are defined yearly with the line Manager in function of the needs and the competence reached by the Project Engineer.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Be the centralized Engineering expertise for major projects and contracts. Today’s customers are mainly open pit mines. It is the intent to replicate this successful business model to further develop underground mining, large construction and quarry projects.
- Develop and edit fleet proposal for complex projects (sales support)
- Implementation of complex sales contract/project up to the handing over to the project operation; complex sales contract
- Be the engineering support for specific request (technical/economic feasibility)
- Manage technical requirements for efficient purchasing from non-OEM partners
- Develop tools and maintain data bases on our keys area of our sales business
- Structure Digital and Fleet Management System offering
- Lead CI (Continuous Improvement) projects with Customers/OEM’s/BIA site team
- Internal training of BIA future Project Managers and BIA Mining equipment sales force
Who are we looking for?
- Engineering degree and a first relevant experience or a very strong affinity with large mobile construction/mining equipment
- Experience in Project Management
- Fluent in French and English
- Customer focused and forward thinking
- Organized, goal oriented, hands-on, autonomous and mentally resilient
- Strong negotiator and able to report in a structured way
- Relationship builder, networker
- Excellent communicator
You are open to occasional travel abroad to visit client sites, mainly in Africa (several weeks on end, once or twice per year)
