About the Role:

As the Manager EH&S Campus Processes, you will lead a dedicated team of 3 internal EHS by Design experts and 2-4 external contractors. You will oversee critical processes and coordinate campus-wide initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and the highest standards of safety.

Major Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Coordination:

  • Spearhead a comprehensive EH&S management system across our Belgian campuses, incorporating key processes such as Management of Change, ISO/OHSAS management system and strategy, audits, year action plan and global prevention plan, (zit al in Management of Change).

  • The EH&S Campus Process Manager will be part of the EH&S Belgium leadership team as well as the Beerse EH&S site leadership team.

  • Maintain strong connections with global SMEs for global alignment.

• Ownership of Site Programs:

  • Responsible for the effective implementation of EH&S procedures and legal requirements, coordination of the campus budget, ensuring that all initiatives align with Johnson & Johnson's high standards of safety and compliance.

  • You will be part of the Beerse site operational crisis team and be on call around 7 weeks a year.

• Regulatory Compliance:

  • Evaluate and maintain adherence to local and federal regulations, integrating feedback and ensuring continuous improvement within the EH&S framework.

• Team Management:

  • Coach and empower the EHS by Design experts in your team. Provide guidance and development opportunities for your team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  • Manage resources and work allocation for the EHS by Design experts and external contractors. Manage budget for EHS support in projects >5MM.

• Project Implementation:

  • Lead the implementation of EH&S projects and continuous improvement initiatives for campus Belgium, driving innovation and efficiency in our processes.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Prevention advisor level 2 or higher

• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant EH&S experience, with a strong background in safety regulations and best practices.

• Language Skills: Fluent in both English and Dutch. French is a pre.

Required Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of successfully managing diverse teams.

• 2+ years of experience in a people leader role

• Ability to navigate and influence people at all levels within a complex organization.

• Project management experience or experience in leading initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

• Experience in management of change from design to commissioning for large projects

• Strategic and detail-oriented mindset.

• Strong organizational & prioritization skills.

• Ability to lead cross-functional discussions.

• Strong skills in team collaboration and relationship-building.

• Strong communication skills (candid, concise, active listening).

• Positive mindset in overcoming challenges. High self-awareness and openness to feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 certification processes is preferred.

• Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies and project management.

• Knowledge of the budget cycles and financial insights

Travel Requirement:

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time (domestically and internationally). Mainly within Belgium.
