As Customs & Logistics Senior Business Analyst, you are responsible for driving operational excellence across customs and logistics functions in the EMEA region. This role will ensure compliance with international trade regulations, optimization of the logistics processes, and support for strategic decision-making through business intelligence and continuous improvement initiatives. The analyst will also act as a key liaison for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O deployment related to customs and logistics.
This role is a temporary/interim role for the duration of the implementation of D365 (estimated duration: 3 years) and is based in Petit-Rechain, Belgium.
Accountabilities:
Process Documentation & ERP Alignment:
- Lead efforts to map and document current-state logistics and customs processes, including transportation planning, freight execution, import/export procedures, trade compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Partner with stakeholders to define and design future-state processes aligned with best practices and the capabilities of the new ERP system (D365).
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks in current operations and propose scalable solutions in view of new ERP.
- Collaborate with ERP implementation teams to ensure logistics and customs requirements are incorporated into system design, configuration, and testing. - Collaborate with customs authorities, customs integration providers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure the correct application of regulations & retention of the current company trading authorizations.
- Create detailed functional specifications, use cases, and process flow diagrams. Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary process updates.
Project & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze and improve current logistics flows across regional distribution centers and transport networks.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to improve current key performance indicators, quality of process and ultimately customer satisfaction.
- Lead and support cross-functional projects from initiation to post-implementation (requirements gathering, testing, training, handover).
- Document current and future state processes, identify gaps, and propose solutions.
- Develop and manage project plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Act as a change agent, promoting lean practices and continuous improvement across customs and logistics functions.
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor customs clearance times, logistics KPIs, and cost performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic decisions.
- Ensure data consistency and availability across systems; collaborate with IT to resolve data integrity issues.
- Automate reporting processes and develop scorecards to track operational efficiency and compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Present findings, project updates, and insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Train key users on new processes and tools, ensuring smooth adoption and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, IT, and external partners to align on customs and logistics strategies.
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience with carrier implementation and/or customs in Europe
- Good understanding of international trade regulations (EU, GCC, African Union).
- Project management experience, preferably with Lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, especially in logistics and trade compliance modules, is an asset.
- Desirable skills in dangerous goods handling, multimodal transportation, various size of shipment size.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels.

Our offer
This exciting position is a Global Grade 12 and offers a salary of between €57,000 and €81,000 (payable in 13.92 instalments). Please be aware that this range represents the pay range for all positions within the job grade in which the post falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, experience, and location (country). We also offer the following benefits:- Meal vouchers with a face value of 8€
