Verian Belgium’s dedicated Policy research and evaluation practice already has a wide portfolio of studies covering areas such as disinformation and digital policy, consumer protection, social policies, youth policy, education and training, humanitarian aid, and migration, environmental behaviours to public health and misinformation. We are looking to grow our portfolio and our people. The team works for clients across different Directorates of the European Commission, its Agencies and the European Parliament.
The role
We are looking for an Associate Director with 5 to 7 years of experience, and specific experience and interest in evaluation of communication campaigns as well as more broadly the design, management and effective delivery of research and evaluation for communication strategies for EU institutions. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of high-quality projects, as part of an ambitious and growing team that has significant experience in research and analysis related to communication and campaigns.

Based in our Policy Research and Evaluation team in Brussels, where we support European institutions in making the right decisions, you will help lead and expand our portfolio of research, analysis, and evaluation work focused on communication. You will be responsible for both business development and project delivery, from designing methodologies to reporting findings, and will play a key role in developing and managing a talented and growing team of researchers.
Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting project teams, acting as key contact for clients, being accountable for timings and budgets, maintaining quality in analysis and reporting
- Participating in new business activities – leading proposals, developing new client relationships, planning and contributing to profile-raising activities
- Developing relations with key clients to ensure satisfaction and optimal value from both their and our points of view
- Contributing to team planning and strategy, and skills and capability development
- Working with other methodological and evaluation experts to develop our offer by drawing on advanced knowledge and skills, creating new solutions, and training the team.
- Line managing one or more individuals and supporting their work and development
Your Profile
- Proven experience in applied research methodologies (audience segmentation, asset testing, impact assessment, focus groups, surveys, etc). You have been (co-)leading in all aspects of research design from development of approaches and methods, through team coordination and client management to reporting. For this position is important to have a solid knowledge and experience in research methodologies as well as expertise and passion for communication. Profiles without proven experience in research methodologies will not be considered.
- Experience in providing evidence at different stages of the communication cycle: from objectives and audience research, through development of communication strategy and campaign platforms to their evaluation.
- Proven project oversight experience, with strong client handling skills and an ability to lead a research team to deliver excellent work to time and budget.
- Experience of working with EU institutions and winning work through tenders for EU institutions is required.
